Bio

Jerry W. Jernigan

Mr. Jernigan graduated from Duke University (BA, 1968) and Duke Law School (JD, 1974). Between undergraduate and law school he served as an officer in the United States Navy. He was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1974.

Mr. Jernigan began his solo practice in September, 1998. Prior to 1998 he was a partner in two mid-sized Charlotte law firms.

Throughout his legal career he has concentrated in the practice areas of business law and trusts and estates, including estate administration. He is an AV Rated attorney with Martindale Hubbell.

Mr. Jernigan is a member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association and various practice sections within each of those organizations. In addition to legal activities, he enjoys devoting time to local non-profit organizations.

Joanna S. Cochran

     Ms. Cochran holds an associate's degree from Central Piedmont Community College and is a graduate of Kings College. Over the course of her career, she has worked as legal assistant in large and mid-sized law firms in Greensboro and Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition, for three years she was the office manager for the U.S. office of a German textile importer.
